There are also two railway stations: Pen Mill Station, situated on the line between Bristol and Weymouth, and Yeovil Junction which is situated on the line from Clapham junction to Exeter and beyond. Industries
Yeovil is known historically as a glove-making town and the local football team is still called the Glovers.
Today however, Yeovil is home to several companies with 500 employees or more. A lot of industry has developed around the needs of the Augusta Westland Helicopter company and the nearby Naval Air Base RNAS Yeovilton. Some other major employers include software company Aerosystems International and Screwfix, the online DIY store.
