OUR VISION

Our Vision

Romans 13:8 "Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."

Jesus taught that the greatest commandment was to Love God, and the second is to Love People. This is the very heart of God, for God is Love, and anyone who loves, fulfils God's Law.

"At the centre of the universe is a relationship. This is the most fundamental truth I know." - Darrell Johnson

At the centre of our vision, is relationship with God and People.
Our logo is designed to express our vision, values and priorities. Our vision, informs our values (who we are), which determine our priorities (what we consistently do). Our values are things like Christ-likeness, being Spirit-led, Compassion and Mercy, Humility, Integrity, Unity, Serving etc.

Our Priorities are formational, to help us Love God, relational to help us Love People, and Missional, to help us fulfil the great commission to make disciples of all nations.

Ultimately, our vision serves the greater vision of Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland, which is: "To extend God's kingdom together, everywhere, and in every way."

WORSHIP

Jesus said that the Father is looking for worshippers who will worship in Spirit and in Truth. "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." Westminster Shorter Chatechism. To quote a song: "Come, let us adore Him!".

PRAYER

Prayer is communion with God, a living relationship in which we get to know God, and be known by Him. We want to live in the unforced rhythms of grace, resting and trusting in God, taking every thought captive to Him, to be led by His Spirit.

BIBLE

The Bible is our ultimate authority in faith and practice. It is the Word of God. We live our lives according to its Truth. We embed the Bible in everything we do because it's all about Jesus, The Word, The Way, The Truth and The Life.

RELATIONSHIP

The Church is the body of Christ, and is held together by a shared life and vitality that flows from Jesus, the Head. Paul says in Ephesians 4:11-16: 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

MINISTRY

We are to do practical works of service, for in serving others, we also serve Jesus. We preach the good news about Jesus, we pray for healing the sick, we comfort the broken-hearted and speak hope and life into the weary soul.

EQUIPPING

The Church has been set apart to make disciples. Therefore we equip people to be disciples of Jesus and we empower them to walk in their calling, so that we can extend the kingdom of God everywhere and in every way.

MISSION

We share in the mission of Jesus, to redeem the world to himself. As followers of Jesus we are called to be outward focused, to make a difference and bring transformation to our communities, everywhere and in every way.
